Section 1Citation, commencement and extent

This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) (England) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 21st March 2003.

Section 2Designation as a public body

Each of the following bodies, being a person appearing to the Secretary of State, to be exercising a function of a public nature, shall be a public body for the purposes of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970, in its application to England :

Swaythling Parochial Church Council ;

York Museums and Gallery Trust ; and

South Lakeland Leisure .

Section 3Restrictions on agreements—Swaythling Parochial Church Council

Agreements which may be entered into by Swaythling Parochial Church Council by virtue of this Order shall be subject to the following restrictions—

(a) that any such agreements are for the supply of stationery, furniture and general goods to it by Hampshire County Council; and

(b) that any such agreements are made in connection with the provision of services in the area of Hampshire County Council.

Section 4Restrictions on agreements—York Museums and Gallery Trust

Agreements which may be entered into by York Museums and Gallery Trust by virtue of this Order shall be subject to the following restrictions—

(a) that any such agreements are for the supply of goods or materials, or the provision of administrative, professional or technical services, to it by the City of York Council; and

(b) that any such agreements are entered into during a period in respect of which it is in receipt of a grant from the City of York Council; and

(c) that any agreements are made in connection with the provision of museums, galleries and educational facilities in the area of the City of York Council.

Section 5Restrictions on agreements—South Lakeland Leisure

Agreements which may be entered into by South Lakeland Leisure by virtue of this Order shall be subject to the following restrictions—

(a) that any such agreements are for the supply of goods or materials, or the provision of administrative, professional or technical services, to it by South Lakeland District Council; and

(b) that any such agreements are entered into during a period in respect of which it is in receipt of a grant from South Lakeland District Council; and

(c) that any agreements are made in connection with the provision of recreational facilities in the area of South Lakeland District Council.
