Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Adoption (Intercountry Aspects) Act 1999 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2003.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Adoption (Intercountry Aspects) Act 1999.

Section 2 Appointed day

1st June 2003 is the appointed day for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—

(a) section 7 (acquisition of British citizenship by Convention adoptions);

(b) Schedule 2, paragraph 2 and section 15 (amendment to the Immigration Act) in so far as it relates to that paragraph.
