Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) Amendment Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 7 th April 2003.

Section 2 Amendment of regulation 7A of the Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) Regulations 1987

In regulation 7A(2)(g) and (5)(b) of the Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) Regulations 1987 (amount of funeral payment) , in each place where the sum “£600” appears there shall be substituted the sum “£700”.

Section 3 Transitional provision

Where, in respect of a death which occurs before 7 th April 2003, a claim is made for funeral expenses from the social fund, regulation 2 shall not have effect with respect to that claim.
