Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Best Value) Performance Indicators and Performance Standards (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 17th May 2004.

Section 2 Amendment of the Local Government (Best Value) Performance Indicators and Performance Standards Order 2003

(1) The Local Government (Best Value) Performance Indicators and Performance Standards Order 2003 is amended as follows.

(2) In article 16 (performance indicators for fire services) for the words “1 to 11” substitute “1 to 7”.

(3) For Schedule 14 substitute—

The number of calls to fire attended:

total calls (excluding false alarms) per 10,000 population;

primary fires per 10,000 population;

accidental fires in dwellings per 10,000 dwellings.

The number of—

deaths; and

injuries (excluding precautionary checks),arising from accidental fires in dwellings per 100,000 population.

The percentage of accidental fires in dwellings confined to room oforigin.
