Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Nuclear Safeguards Act Commencement ( No. 1) Order 2004.

(2) In this Order, “ the Act ” means the Nuclear Safeguards Act 2000.

Section 2 Commencement

—Subject to article 3 below, the Act shall come into force on 1 st May 2004.

Section 3 Commencement

The following provisions of the Act shall not come into force on 1 st May 2004:

(a) Section 5(1)(b); and

(b) In Section 5(2), the words “or Article 9 (if it falls within subsection (1)(b))” and “procedural arrangements for wide-area environmental sampling approved under Article 9”.
