Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Borough of Barnsley (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2004.

(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Section 2 Amendment to the 2003 Order

(1) The Borough of Barnsley (Electoral Changes) Order 2003 shall be amended as follows:

(2) After article 1(2) shall be inserted—

(3) Articles 5 and 6 shall come into force—

(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of a parish councillor for the parishes of Penistone and Tankersley to be held on the ordinary day of elections in 2007, on 15th October 2006;

(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of elections in 2007.

(3) In article 2(b), “Metropolitan” shall be deleted.

(4) In article 4(4)(a), “(5) and (6)” shall be substituted for “(6) and (7)”.

(5) In article 7, “Metropolitan” shall be deleted.
