This Order may be cited as the British Transport Police (Police Services Agreement) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 1st July 2004.

The British Transport Police (Police Services Agreement) Order 2004
(1) A person—
(a) who provides railway services in respect of—
(i) a train used on a network for the purpose of carrying passengers;
(ii) a train used on a network for the purpose of carrying goods;
(iii) a light maintenance depot; or
(iv) a station, and
(b) who has been granted a licence pursuant to section 8 of the Railways Act 1993 authorising him to be the operator of the train, light maintenance depot or station in question, or who has been granted a railway undertaking licence pursuant to the Railway (Licensing of Railway Undertakings) Regulations 2005 ..., in connection with the railway services in question or who holds a relevant European licence ,
shall enter into a police services agreement.
(2) Network Rail, being a person who provides railway services in respect of a network, shall enter into a police services agreement.
(3) In this article “ Network Rail ” means Network Rail Infrastructure Limited, a private limited company whose registration number is 02904587 and whose registered address is 40 Melton Street, London NW1 2EE ....
(4) In this article “relevant European licence” has the meaning given in section 6(2) of the Railways Act 1993.
