Section 1 Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on the expiry of 14 days beginning with the day on which they are made.

(2) In these Regulations, “the 2001 Regulations ” means the Representation of the People (Scotland) Regulations 2001 .

(3) These Regulations shall extend to Scotland only.

Section 2 Revocation

The Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2003 are hereby revoked.

Section 3 Prescribed form

The form set out in Part I of the Schedule to these Regulations is hereby prescribed for use for the purposes of the canvass which is required to be conducted by section 10 of the Representation of the People Act 1983.

Section 4 Amendment of provision about applications

In regulation 26(6) of the 2001 Regulations (applications for registration) for “the Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2003” substitute “the Representation of the People (Form of Canvass) (Scotland) Regulations 2004”.
