Section 1 Citation, commencement and application

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 1st September 2004.

(2) These Regulations apply in relation to a school year beginning on or after that date.

(3) These Regulations apply only in relation to England.

Section 2 Amendment of the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997

(1) The Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2—

(a) In paragraph (2), substitute “£12,846” for “£12,508”.

(b) In paragraph (3) for sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) substitute—

(a) £79 where the relevant income does not exceed £11,935; and

(b) £41 where that income exceeds £11,935 but does not exceed £12,846

(3) In regulation 4 —

(a) in paragraph (3), substitute “£11,948” for “£11,639”; and

(b) in paragraph (4)—

(i) substitute “£11,948” for “£11,639”; and

(ii) substitute “£11,769” for “£11,460”.
