Section 1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Race Relations Act 1976 (General Statutory Duty) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 31st December 2004.

Section 2Amendment of Schedule 1A to the Race Relations Act 1976

Schedule 1A to the Race Relations Act 1976 is amended as follows:

(a) in Part II–

(i) under the sub-heading “Libraries, museums and arts”, at the end of the entry relating to The Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England insert “(Known as English Heritage)”; omit the entry relating to Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries and after the entry relating to The Millennium Commission insert “The Museum, Archives and Libraries Council”; and omit the entry relating to the Science Museum;

(ii) under the sub-heading “Regulatory, audit and inspection”, at the end of the entry relating to The Engineering Council insert “( UK )”; and

(iii) under the sub-heading “Other Bodies, etc ”, at the end of the entry relating to The Gas and Electricity Consumer Council insert “(Energywatch)”;

(b) in Part III under the sub-heading “Education”, for the entry relating to The National College of School Leadership substitute “The National College for School Leadership”; and

(c) after Part III insert the headings and entries set out in the Schedule to this Order.
