Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 2004, and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.

Section 2 Designation of urban development area

(1) The area comprising the three areas shown on the maps bounded externally by a black line and edged internally with a stippled band is hereby designated as an urban development area.

(2) In paragraph (1), “the maps” means the set of maps numbered 1 to 3 entitled “Maps referred to in the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 2004”, of which prints, signed by a Director in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and dated 4th May 2004, are deposited and available for inspection at the offices of the First Secretary of State and the offices of Government Office for the East Midlands, Northamptonshire County Council, South Northamptonshire Council, Daventry District Council and Northampton Borough Council.

Section 3 Establishment of the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation

(1) For the purposes of regenerating the area designated by article 2(1) there is hereby established an urban development corporation named “West Northamptonshire Development Corporation”.

(2) The corporation established by paragraph (1) shall consist of eleven members in addition to the chairman and deputy chairman.
