Section 1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Bedfordshire) (Districts of Mid-Bedfordshire and South Bedfordshire) (Amendment) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 5th April 2004.

Section 2Amendment of principal Order

(1) The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Bedfordshire) (Districts of Mid-Bedfordshire and South Bedfordshire) Order 2004 is amended as follows.

(2) For article 3(2)(c), substitute—

(c) the A5—

(i) from the southern boundary of the district to its junction with Beech Road, Dunstable;

(ii) from its junction with French’s Avenue, Dunstable, to its junction with the road to Tebworth, south of Hockliffe;

(iii) from the former junction with Church Lane, north of Hockliffe, to the north western boundary of the district.

(3) In paragraph 7(2) of Schedule 1, for the definition of “parking authority” substitute—

“parking authority”—

in relation to—

a parking place provided or authorised under section 32(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 , or designated under section 45 of that Act, or

a vehicle that is or was stationary in such a parking place,

means the authority (Bedfordshire County Council, Mid-Bedfordshire District Council or South Bedfordshire District Council) by whom the parking place was provided, authorised or designated, and

in relation to any other place, or a vehicle that is or was stationary in any other place, means Bedfordshire County Council;
