Section 1

This Order may be cited as The A40 Trunk Road (M5 Motorway Junction 11 to the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire County Boundary) (Detrunking) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st July 2005.

Section 2

In this Order—

(i) “principal road” as a classification for a highway means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;

(ii) “the trunk road” means the A40 trunk road; and

(iii) “the plan” means the plan folio consisting of the key plan and three site plans numbered HA10/PS/325 marked “The A40 Trunk Road (M5 Motorway Junction 11 to the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire County Boundary) (Detrunking) Order 2005” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the ODPM-DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GQ;

Section 3

From the date when this Order comes into force the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road.
