Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as The Coventry City Council and the North West Federation of Schools (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1 st September 2005.

(2) In this Order—

“the 2000 Act ” means the Learning and Skills Act 2000 ;

“the Act” means the Education Act 2002; and

“the North West Federation of Schools” means the Sidney Stringer School – Specialising in Mathematics and Computing , the Barr’s Hill School and Community College and the President Kennedy School and Community College .

Section 2 Exemption

Section 96 of the 2000 Act shall not, in respect of the provision of a course at any of the schools comprising the North West Federation of Schools which leads to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education in English, apply to the authority or the governing bodies.

Section 3 Time period

This Order shall have effect until 31 st August 2008.
