These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Payment of Duty by Credit Card) (Prescribed Fee) Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 14th October 2005.

The Road Vehicles (Payment of Duty by Credit Card) (Prescribed Fee) Regulations 2005
The fee prescribed for the purposes of section 19C(2) of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 is £2.50 in respect of the acceptance of a credit card payment of the duty payable on each vehicle licence or trade licence for which application is made.
For the purposes of section 19C “credit card” means—
(a) a card which is a credit-token within the meaning of section 14(1)(b) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 ; or
(b) a card which would be a credit-token within the meaning of that section were it to be given to an individual.
