Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (Code of Practice) (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 15th July 2005.

(2) This Order extends only to Northern Ireland.

Section 2 Appointed day

The day hereby appointed for the purpose of section 25(2) of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 is 15th July 2005 and the code of practice laid before Parliament on 25th May 2005 containing the provisions referred to in section 23 of that Act shall come into operation accordingly on that day.

Section 3 Revocation

The Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (Code of Practice) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 is hereby revoked.
