The A63 Trunk Road (East of Peckfield Bar to Boot & Shoe) (Detrunking) Order 2006

Section 1

This Order may be cited as the A63 Trunk Road (East of Peckfield Bar to Boot & Shoe) (Detrunking) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 25th May 2006.

Section 2

In this Order—

(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

(2)

(i) “the Motorway and connecting roads” means the special roads which the Secretary of State is authorised to provide by the A1 Motorway (Ferrybridge to Hook Moor and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1999;

(ii) “the trunk road” means the A63 Trunk Road;

(iii) “principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers highways classified by the Secretary of State; and

(iv) “the plan” means the plan numbered HA/10/MP/070 and marked “The A1 Trunk Road (East of Peckfield Bar to Boot & Shoe) (Detrunking) Order 2006,” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at ODPM-DfT, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.

Section 3

The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad hatching on the plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Leeds City Council that the motorway and connecting roads are open for traffic.
