Section 1Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the London Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 2006 and shall come into force on 1st July 2006.

(2) In this Order “the Establishment Order ” means the London Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1996 .

Section 2Amendment of article 1 of the Establishment Order

In article 1 of the Establishment Order (citation, commencement and interpretation), at the appropriate alphabetical place insert—

“community health services” means any services which the Secretary of State may provide under section 3(1)(d) or (e) of, or Schedule 1 to, the National Health Service Act 1977 and any service which she has a duty to provide under section 5(1) of that Act ;

Section 3Amendment of article 3 of the Establishment Order

In article 3 of the Establishment Order (nature and functions of the trust), for paragraph (2) substitute—

(2) The trust’s functions shall be to provide goods and services for the purposes of the health service and, in particular, to provide and manage—

(a) ambulance and associated transport services; and

(b) such other services, including community health services, as can reasonably be carried out in conjunction with the provision and management of ambulance and associated transport services.
