Section 1 Citation, extent and commencement

This Order—

(a) may be cited as the Financial Assistance for Environmental Purposes Order 2006;

(b) extends to England and Wales and Northern Ireland, except for Article 2(b) which extends to England and Wales; and

(c) comes into force on 31st July 2006.

Section 2 Variation of section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990

In section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (purposes for which financial assistance may be given), after paragraph (vv) —

(a) insert—

(ww) the scheme known as the World Summit on Sustainable Development Implementation Fund;

(b) insert—

(xx) the programme known as the Envirowise Programme, in relation to its activities in England.
