Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Support) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 1st August 2006.

Section 2 Amendments to the Education (Student Support) Regulations 2006

The Education (Student Support) Regulations 2006 are amended in accordance with regulations 3 to 5.

Section 3 Amendment to regulation 2 (interpretation)

In the definition of “the 2005 Regulations” in paragraph (1) of regulation 2, for “and the Adoption and Children (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2005” substitute—

, the Adoption and Children (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2005 and the Education (Student Support) (Amendment) Regulations 2006

Section 4 Amendments to regulation 27 (amount of the grant for fees for a course at a publicly-funded institution)

(1) For paragraph (4) of regulation 27 substitute—

(4) Paragraphs (1) to (3) do not apply to designated courses at Heythrop College or at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

(2) After paragraph (5) of regulation 27 insert—

(6) In the case of a designated course at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the amount of the grant for fees in respect of an academic year is £4,355.

Section 5 Amendments to regulation 29 (amount of the grant for fees for a course at a private institution)

(1) In paragraph (1) of regulation 29, for “Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3)” substitute “Subject to paragraph (2)”.

(2) Omit paragraph (3) of regulation 29.
