Section 1

This Order may be cited as The Electoral Administration Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2006.

Section 2

The Electoral Administration Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2006 is amended in accordance with articles 3 and 4.

Section 3

In Schedule 1 for paragraph 20 substitute—

(20) In relation to England and Wales and Scotland

(a) section 61 (Regulation of loans etc.), except so far as—

(i) it applies to minor parties within the meaning of section 160(1) of the 2000 Act ;

(ii) it provides, by subsection (1), for the insertion of section 71S(3) of the 2000 Act;

(iii) it provides, by subsection (5), for the insertion of paragraphs 2(3) and 3(2) of Schedule 6A to the 2000 Act;

(b) section 62 (Regulation of loans: power to make provision for candidates, third parties and referendums).

Section 4

In paragraph 25(m) of Schedule 1 after “and Scotland” insert “, except so far as they apply to minor parties within the meaning of section 160(1) of the 2000 Act, or the members or members associations of such parties”.
