This Order may be cited as the Registration of Political Parties (Prohibited Words and Expressions) (Amendment) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 1 January 2007.

The Registration of Political Parties (Prohibited Words and Expressions) (Amendment) Order 2006
(1) The Registration of Political Parties (Prohibited Words and Expressions) Order 2001 is amended as follows.
(2) In article 2(1), (2)(b) and (2A) after “registered name” insert “or registered description”.
(3) In article 2(2)(b) after “party” insert “(other than the applicant party)”.
(4) In article 2(2)(c)(ii) for “Part, or” substitute “Part;”.
(5) In article 2(2)(c)(iii) after ““party”;” insert “or”.
(6) In article 2, after paragraph (2)(c)(iii) insert—
(iv) the registered description of a registered party;
(7) In article 2(3)(b)(i)—
(a) after “applicant party”, where it first appears, insert “or a description”; and
(b) after “application under” insert “section 28B or” .
(8) In article 2(3)(b)(ii) after “applicant party” insert “or a description”.
(9) In the heading to the Schedule after “REGISTERED NAME” insert “OR REGISTERED DESCRIPTION”.
