Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (Commencement No 3) Order 2007.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.

Section 2 Provisions coming into force on 11th June 2007

11th June 2007 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 15 (general qualifications bodies) of the Act, so far as it inserts into the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 —

(a) sections 31AA, 31AD and 31AE, for the purpose only of exercising any power to make regulations; and

(b) section 31AF.

Section 3 Provisions coming into force on 1st September 2007

1 st September 2007 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—

(a) section 15 , so far as it is not already in force; and

(b) paragraphs 25, 37(3), (4)(b) and 5(b) and 50(4)(a) and (5) of Schedule 1 (minor and consequential amendments), and section 19(1) so far as it relates to those paragraphs.
