Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Rules may be cited as the General Dental Council (Appointments Committee and Appointment of Members of Committees) (Amendment) Rules 2007 and shall come into force on [xxx] .

Section 2 Amendment of rule 7 of the General Dental Council (Appointments Committee and Appointment of Members of Committees) Rules 2006

In the General Dental Council (Appointments Committee and Appointment of Members of Committees) Rules 2006 , in rule 7 (tenure)—

(a) in paragraph (1), for “The term” substitute “Subject to paragraph (1A), the term”; and

(b) after paragraph (1) insert—

(1A) The term of office of a member of the Appointments Committee whose term of office, in the absence of this paragraph, would expire at the end of 31st December 2007 shall expire at the end of 31st December 2008.
