Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections)(Amendment) Order 2007 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Section 2

(1) The left-hand column of Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) Order 2001 (application with modifications of statutory provisions relating to elections) is amended as follows.

(2) For the entries in respect of section 90A (meaning of election expenses) and section 90B (incurring of election expenses for the purpose of section 90A) of the Representation of the People Act 1983 , substitute “Section 90ZA (meaning of “election expenses”)” .

(3) After the entry in respect of Schedule 3 to the Representation of the People Act 1983 insert “SCHEDULE 4A (ELECTION EXPENSES)” .
