These Regulations may be cited as the Local Authority Targets (Well-Being of Young Children) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and come into force on 14th July 2008.

Section 2Citation, commencement and interpretation
In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations ” means the Local Authority Targets (Well-Being of Young Children) Regulations 2007 .
Section 3Amendments to the Local Authority Targets (Well-Being of Young Children) Regulations 2007
For paragraph (2) of regulation 1 of the principal Regulations substitute the following—
(2) In these Regulations “early years foundation stage assessment scales” means the assessment scales described in Appendix 1 to the “Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage” document published by the Department for Children, Schools and Families in May 2008 .
Section 4Amendments to the Local Authority Targets (Well-Being of Young Children) Regulations 2007
In regulation 3, before “foundation stage assessment scales” insert “early years”.
