Section 1 Interpretation

In this Order “the Trust” means the Churches Conservation Trust, “the Commissioners” means the Church Commissioners, “the 1983 Measure” means the Pastoral Measure 1983 and “the funding period” means the period specified in paragraph 2.

Section 2 Funding period for Part III of 1983 Measure

The funding period for the purposes of Part III of the 1983 Measure shall be the period beginning with 1st April 2009 and ending with 31st March 2012.

Section 3 Payments to the Trust

In respect of the funding period the total amount (comprising grants made under section 44(10) of the 1983 Measure and moneys allocated under section 52(1) of that Measure) to be paid by the Commissioners to the Trust shall be £4,160,000.

Section 4 Condition for payments to the Trust

A payment on account of the sum specified in paragraph 3 shall be made to the Trust only when the Commissioners are satisfied that the payment is an appropriate proportion of a specific sum of money needed by the Trust and that the balance of that sum will be paid to the Trust out of moneys provided by Parliament.

Section 5 Revocation

The Payments to the Churches Conservation Trust Order 2005 is hereby revoked.

Section 6 Citation and coming into force

This Order may be cited as The Payments to the Churches Conservation Trust Order 2008 and shall come into force on 1st April 2009.
