Section 1 Citation

This Order may be cited as the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Commencement No.1) Order 2008.

Section 2 Appointed day for provisions relating to the Appointments Commission

25th August 2008 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Health and Social Care Act 2008—

(a) section 127 (which gives effect to Schedule 10) in so far as it gives effect to the provisions referred to in paragraphs (b) and (c);

(b) paragraph 20 of Schedule 10 (amendments to the Health Act 2006 relating to directions given by the Secretary of State to the Appointments Commission); and

(c) paragraph 21 of Schedule 10 in so far as it relates to section 60(3)(a) of the Health Act 2006 (amendments relating to directions given by the Privy Council to the Appointments Commission).
