Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Act 2008 (Commencement No 1) Order 2008.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Act 2008.

Section 2 Commencement

The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 1st October 2008—

(a) Part 1 and Schedules 1 to 3 (the Local Better Regulation Office);

(b) Sections 24(1)(b), 24(1)(c), 28(6), 28(7) and 34 and paragraph 6(2) of Schedule 4;

(c) Part 3 and Schedules 5 to 7 (civil sanctions); and

(d) Part 4 (regulatory burdens).
