Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No.3) Regulations 2008.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on 15th December 2008.

Section 2 Amendment of regulation 27 of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2002

(1) Regulation 27 of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) 2002 is amended in accordance with this regulation.

(2) For paragraph (1)(a), substitute—

(a)

(i) by a local authority for any purpose connected with the investigation of an offence,

(ii) by a local authority in Scotland, for any purpose connected with the investigation of a decriminalised parking contravention, or

(iii) by a local authority in England and Wales, for any purpose connected with its activities as an enforcement authority within the meaning of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 ;

(3) In paragraph (3)(a), omit paragraphs (i) and (ii).
