Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (Recognised Bodies) (England) (Amendment) Order 2008 and comes into force on 21 November 2008.

Section 2 Amendment of the Education (Recognised Bodies) (England) Order 2007

The Education (Recognised Bodies) (England) Order 2007 is amended as follows—

In the Schedule–

(a) omit–

(i) “Henley Management College”; and

(ii) “University of Paisley”.

(b) for “Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College”, substitute “Buckinghamshire New University”;

(c) for “University of Central England in Birmingham”, substitute in the appropriate place, “Birmingham City University”;

(d) for “College of St Mark & St John, Plymouth, The”, substitute in the appropriate place, “University College Plymouth, St Mark & St John”;

(e) for “University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester substitute “University for the Creative Arts”;

(f) for “Newman College of Higher Education, Birmingham”, substitute “Newman University College”;

In the Schedule, insert in the appropriate place–

(g) “ UHI Millennium Institute”; and

(h) “University of the West of Scotland”.
