Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) (England) Order 2008.

(2) In this Order, “ the Act ” means the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.

Section 2 Provisions coming into force on the 17th December 2008

17th December 2008 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act for the purposes of making regulations —

(a) section 63(1) (amendments and repeals) in so far as it relates to the provisions of Schedule 9 set out in paragraphs (b) and (c);

(b)

(i) paragraph 5(2), (3), (6) and (7), in relation to England;

(ii) paragraph 5(4);

(iii) paragraph 5(1), in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii);

(iv) paragraph 6(2), (3) and (6), in relation to England;

(v) paragraph 6(4);

(vi) paragraph 6(1), in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in sub-paragraphs (iv) and (v);

(vii) paragraph 7, in relation to England;

(c) paragraph 2, in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in paragraph (b).
