Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 (Commencement No.4) Order 2008.

(2) In this Order, unless otherwise specified, references to sections and Schedules are references to sections and Schedules of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007.

Section 2 Appointed days for provisions relating to local involvement networks, joint strategic needs assessments and power to make further amendments and repeals

(1) 21st February 2008 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions—

(a) section 223;

(b) section 224;

(c) section 226(6);

(d) section 228(3) to (8);

(e) section 243.

(2) 10th March 2008 is the day appointed for the coming force of section 227 for the purpose of giving directions.

(3) 1st April 2008 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions specified in the Schedule to this Order.

(4) 30th June 2008 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions—

(a) section 232 in so far as it is not already in force;

(b) section 241 in so far as it relates to Part 18 of Schedule 18 and in so far as it is not already in force;

(c) Part 18 of Schedule 18 in so far as it is not already in force.
