Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Wireless Telegraphy (Limitation of Number of Spectrum Access Licences) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 2nd April 2008.

(2) This Order shall not extend to the Channel Islands or to the Isle of Man.

Section 2 Limitation of licences

(1) OFCOM shall grant a limited number of wireless telegraphy licences for the use of the frequency band 1452-1492 MHz in the United Kingdom.

(2) In determining the number of wireless telegraphy licences to be granted for the use of these frequencies and the persons to whom the wireless telegraphy licences will be granted, OFCOM shall apply the procedure set out in the Wireless Telegraphy (Licence Award) Regulations 2008 .
