Section 1Citation and commencement
(1) This Order may be cited as the Official Statistics Order 2008.
(2) This Order comes into force on 1st April 2008 or, if made after that date, the day after it is made.

Section 2Official Statistics
(1) To the extent that they are not otherwise official statistics by virtue of section 6(1)(a) of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007, the statistics produced, or to be produced, by the persons listed in the Schedule are specified as official statistics for the purposes of section 6(1)(b) of that Act.
(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to statistics which are wholly Scottish devolved statistics.
