Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Occupational Pension Schemes (Public Service Pension Schemes) Regulations 2009 and shall come into force on 1st September 2009.

Section 2 Schemes to be treated as public service pension schemes

The Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme and the First Minister and Presiding Officer Pension Scheme are prescribed for the purposes of section 1(1) of the Pension Schemes Act 1993 as being schemes which ought in the opinion of the Secretary of State and the Treasury to be treated as public service pension schemes for the purposes of that Act.
