Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008 (Designation of a Gas Transporter) Order 2009 and shall come into force on 3 September 2009.

Section 2Designation of a Gas Transporter
National Grid Gas plc (company registered number 2006000) is designated as a designated gas transporter for the purposes of sections 85 to 90 of the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008 for so long as it holds a licence under section 7 of the Gas Act 1986 .
