Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Medical Profession (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2008 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2009.

(2) In this Order, “ the Order ” means the Medical Profession (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2008.

Section 2 Appointed day

9th September 2009 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Order—

(a) the following paragraphs of Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Order—

(i) paragraph 11;

(ii) paragraph 15;

(iii) paragraph 16(2) in so far as it substitutes sub-section (2)(a) into section 29J of, and inserts sub-section 29J(2A) into, the Medical Act 1983 ;

(iv) paragraph 16(3);

(v) paragraph 16(1) in so far as it relates to the provisions mentioned in sub-paragraphs (iii) and (iv); and

(b) article 3(2) in so far as it relates to the provisions of the Order mentioned in paragraph (a) of this article.
