Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the City of Stoke-on-Trent (Scheme of Elections) Order 2009 and shall come into force on 16 th November 2009.

Section 2Elections of the Council of the City of Stoke-on-Trent
(1) Elections of all councillors for all the wards of the City of Stoke-on-Trent shall be held simultaneously on the ordinary day of election of councillors in 2011 and in every fourth year after 2011.
(2) The councillors holding office immediately before the fourth day after the ordinary day of election of councillors in 2011 shall retire on that date and the newly elected councillors shall come into office on that date.
Section 3Revocation
Article 3 of the City of Stoke-on-Trent (Electoral Changes) Order 2001 is revoked.
