Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the National Park Authorities (Amendment) (England) Order 2009 and comes into force on 1st April 2009.

Section 2 Amendment of the National Park Authorities (England) Order 1996

(1) Schedule 1 to the National Park Authorities (England) Order 1996 is amended as follows.

(2) In Part 1 (membership of National Park Authorities), in relation to the entry “Northumberland” in column (1)—

(a) in column (3), for “12” substitute “6”;

(b) in column (4), for “10” substitute “16”; and

(c) in column (5), for “4” substitute “6”.

(3) In Part 2 (appointment of local authority members), in relation to the entry “Northumberland National Park Authority” in the first column—

(a) in the second column, for “Northumberland County Council” substitute “Northumberland Council”; and

(b) in the second column, delete the entries “Alnwick District Council”, “Berwick upon Tweed Borough Council” and “Tynedale District Council”, and in the third column, delete the entries relating to those entries.
