Section 1 Citation, commencement and application

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Mesothelioma Lump Sum Payments (Conditions and Amounts) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 and shall come into force on 1st April 2010.

(2) Regulation 2(1) and (2) shall apply in relation to a person –

(a) first diagnosed with mesothelioma on or after 1st April 2010; or

(b) where the date of their first diagnosis with mesothelioma is unknown, if a claim is made by that person on or after 1st April 2010.

(3) Regulation 2(1) and (3) shall apply in relation to the dependant of a person who dies on or after 1st April 2010.

Section 2 Amendment of the Schedule to the Mesothelioma Lump Sum Payments (Conditions and Amounts) Regulations 2008

(1) The Schedule to the Mesothelioma Lump Sum Payments (Conditions and Amounts) Regulations 2008 is amended as follows.

(2) For Table 1 substitute the following:

Amount of lump sum payment to person with mesothelioma.
