Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (Amendment) Regulations 2010 and come into force on 1st January 2011.

Section 2 Interpretation

In these Regulations “ the Act ” means the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 .

Section 3 Playing of sound recordings for purposes of club, society, etc.

(1) Section 67 of the Act is omitted.

(2) Paragraph 15 of Schedule 2 to the Act is omitted

Section 4 Free public showing or playing of broadcast

(1) In section 72(1B) of the Act, paragraph (a) is omitted.

(2) In sub-paragraph (1A) of paragraph 18 of Schedule 2 to the Act, paragraph (a) is omitted.

Section 5 Amendments to section 107

In section 107(5) of the Act, for the word “six” substitute “three”.

Section 6 Notification of licence or licensing scheme and references to the Tribunal by the Secretary of State

Section 128A and section 128B of the Act are omitted.
