Section 1Citation and commencement
(1) This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Assembly (Minimum Period) Order 2010.
(2) This Order comes into force on 10th January 2011.

Section 2Dissolution of the Northern Ireland Assembly: Minimum Period
(1) The minimum period for the purpose of section 31(6) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (dates of elections and dissolutions) is 26 days.
(2) Rule 2 of the Assembly Elections Rules applies when computing the period mentioned in paragraph (1).
