The Communications (Television Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations 2010

Section 1Citation, commencement and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Communications (Television Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 and come into force on 1st April 2010.

(2) These Regulations extend to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Section 2Amendment of the 2004 Regulations

The Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004 (“the 2004 Regulations”) are amended as set out in regulations 3 to 7 of these Regulations.

Section 3Amendment of Schedule 1

In Schedule 1 (Issue fees for TV licences)—
(a) for “£48.00” in each place where it occurs substitute “£49.00”; and
(b) for “£142.50” in each place where it occurs substitute “£145.50”.

Section 4Amendment of Schedule 2

(1) Schedule 2 (Fees for TV licences payable by instalments) is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph 2(1) for “£36.89” and “£36.87” substitute, respectively, “£37.64” and £37.62”.
(3) In each of paragraphs 5(1) and 6(1), for “2009” substitute “2010”.

Section 6Amendment of Schedule 5

(1) Schedule 5 (TV licence fees for hotels and hospitality areas and mobile units) is amended as follows.
(2) In the definition of “relevant amount”—

Section 7Saving and transitional provision

In relation to a TV licence issued before 1 st April 2010 Schedules 1 to 5 to the 2004 Regulations continue to have effect without the amendments made by these Regulations.
