Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Policing and Crime Act 2009 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2010.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Policing and Crime Act 2009.

Section 2 Provisions coming into force on 19th April 2010

The day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act is 19th April 2010:

(a) section 3 (regulations about senior officers);

(b) section 4 (metropolitan police force appointments);

(c) section 112(2) (minor and consequential amendments and repeals and revocations) insofar as it relates to the provisions of Part 1 of Schedule 8 (repeals and revocations);

(d) Part 1 of Schedule 8.

Section 3 Provision coming into force on 8th May 2010

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 112(1) of the Act in so far as it relates to paragraph 23 of Schedule 7 (amendments to the Licensing Act 2003 ) to the Act and in relation to Wales only is 8th May 2010.

Section 4 Provision coming into force on 1st September 2010

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 2 of the Act (Police Senior Appointments Panel) is 1st September 2010.
