Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Amendment) Order 2012 and shall come into force on 1st July 2012.

(2) In this Order, “ the Act ” means the Greater London Authority Act 1999.

Section 2 Amendment to section 31 of the Act

(1) Section 31 of the Act (limits of the general power) is amended as follows.

(2) After subsection (5), insert—

(5A) Any reference in subsection (3) above to the provision of health services does not include a reference to the provision of services or facilities for promoting improvements in, or protecting, public health.

(3) In subsection (6), for “(5)” substitute “(5A)”.
