Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (School Teachers) (Qualifications and Specified Work) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (England) Regulations 2012 and come into force on 1st September 2012.

Section 2 Amendments to the Education (School Teachers’ Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003

(1) The Education (School Teachers’ Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003 are amended as follows.

(2) In Schedule 2 (Qualified Teacher Status Requirements)—

(a) in paragraph 7(c) omit “(except a pupil referral unit)”; and

(b) in paragraph 10(3) omit “except a pupil referral unit”.

Section 3 Amendments to the Education (Specified Work) (England) Regulations 2012

(1) The Education (Specified Work) (England) Regulations 2012 are amended as follows.

(2) In the Schedule (the requirements to be satisfied by persons who are not qualified teachers in order to carry out specified work) omit paragraphs 2(2)(b) (and the “; and” immediately before it), 2(3) and 2(4).
