Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Jurors’ Allowances (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and come into force on 30th July 2012.

Section 2 Amendments to the Jurors’ Allowances Regulations 1978

The Jurors’ Allowances Regulations 1978 are amended as follows.

Section 3 Amendments to the Jurors’ Allowances Regulations 1978

After regulation 7 (subsistence allowance to which a juror is entitled) insert—

(7A) A payment by way of allowance under section 19 of the Act will not be made to a juror summoned on or after 30th July 2012 to serve on a jury, unless that juror claims that payment within the period of 12 months beginning on the day following the final day on which he or she attends for service as a juror.
