Section 1Citation and commencement
These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Legal Aid (Prescribed Types of Pollution of the Environment) Regulations 2012 and shall come into force on 1st April 2013.

Section 2Pollution of the environment
The types of pollution of the environment that are prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 42(1) (Environmental pollution) of Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 are pollution of the air, water or land which causes harm to—
(a) the health of human beings or other living organisms; or
(b) the quality of the air, water or land.
