Section 1 Citation

This Order may be cited as the Lincolnshire (Coroners’ Districts) Order 2012.

Section 2 Commencement and application

(1) This Order shall come into force—

(a) on 1st April 2012 in respect of article 3;

(b) on 1st June 2012 in respect of article 4.

(2) This Order shall not have effect in relation to any inquest in an existing district started before the day on which it comes into force in relation to that district or to any post mortem examination which, before that day, a coroner in that district has directed or requested a medical practitioner to make.

Section 3 Amalgamation of coroners’ districts

The existing coroners’ districts of West Lincolnshire and Spilsby and Louth shall be amalgamated to form a single coroner’s district to be known as the Central Lincolnshire Coroner’s District.

Section 4 Amalgamation of coroners’ districts

The existing coroners’ districts of Stamford and Boston and Spalding shall be amalgamated to form a single coroner’s district to be known as the South Lincolnshire Coroner’s District.

Section 5 Revocation

The Lincolnshire (Coroners’ Districts) Order 2003 is revoked.
